Healthy Eating
Active Living Program

The HEAL program is BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation’s commitment to empowering all our mob to include Healthy Eating, Active Living principles in their daily lives.

BlaQ’s HEAL program is supported by City of Sydney and includes activities focused around helping people eat healthy and get access to nutrition information that will enrich and elevate their health and wellbeing in a real and practical way.

Some of our initiatives include:
  • Providing food support through our recent Holiday Hamper gifting initiative to our community Elders
  • Practical cooking classes which will teach the principles of healthy and efficient food preparation (details coming soon!)
  • An 8-week group fitness program to help people kickstart their new year, starting January 6 (see our What’s On page for more info!)

Stay tuned to this page and our socials for more to come!
HEAL LOGO by Yirra Miya

About the HEAL logo

The concept behind this logo tells the story of the HEAL (healthy eating, active living) program by BlaQ Aboriginal Corporation. It shows a yarning circle on the lefthand side surrounded by people (upside down ‘U’ shapes) – this represents the safe space within the HEAL Program for people from all walks of life to engage with the program, learn skills that they can implement into their lives by their choice.

At the centre of this yarning circle is a representation of people with knowledge sticks to represent the space of sharing knowledge but also taking time to reflect and listen to what is being shared.

Towards the right side of the yarning circle are journey lines to represent the different journeys people will take in their health journey with the understanding that health and wellbeing needs to take a wholistic approach and acceptance that healthy looks different for each individual.

The HEAL program is a safe space for people to learn, to share and to better  understand themselves to journey through life.
